Tuesday’s heavy thunderstorms put down .93″ of water in about 30 minutes which lead to some serious flooding in Orem. Golf ball sized hail and strong winds also noted in Saratoga Springs, Lehi and Vineyard – northern Utah County got the brunt of the damage. Drier more stable air is moving in today and should supress general thunderstorm development, whew! A break from the monsoon will last into Thursday and Friday, but another round of monsoon will likely push back into the state this weekend. – Matt Johnson, KSL Weather 8.14.24
