A strong ridge of high pressure is continuing to develop over much of the Mountain West. This means strengthening valley inversions and declining air quality. Temperatures will run about 10 degrees above average. With high pressure overhead, that will keep storms to our north and dry conditons over the area through the weekend. By Monday, our weather pattern begins to become more active with valley rain and mountain snow for northern Utah. A bigger storm moves in late Tuesday – Christmas Eve – to bring rain and snow across most of Utah increasing our chances for a white Christmas. Kristen Van Dyke – KSL Weather 12.19.24
