Like a bad dream on repeat, the air quality continues to decline as valleys remain locked in the inversion layer. AQI readings show at least 3 cities along the Wasatch Front that are within the top 10 worst air rankings in the United States! Air quality woes continue as there is no major pattern changes through at least Saturday. Sunday evening into Monday we’ll get a mianly dry cold front that should scour out the gunk and refresh the lungs. Not much moisture is associated with this upcoming system, but it does look like it will clear the air at least. – Matt Johnson, KSL Weather 12.5.24
