Video: Morning weather forecast for Jan. 22, 2024
Jan 22, 2025, 9:44 AM | Updated: 10:40 am
Colder than normal temperatures will continue the next two days with morning lows in the mid to upper teens and highs in the mid 30s under sunny skies. Friday, we’ll see a brief warm-up with highs in the low 40s with mostly cloudy skies, but the warm up is short-lived. A storm system is forecast to slide south from western Canada into the western US. As this begins to approach Nevada – California, a cold front is progged to come through northern Utah Saturday morning and bring a band of snow with it. Now there’s still a lot of uncertainty on where this band of precipitation will actually develop. Some models place this narrow band of snow over I-80 or south of it. Another piece of uncertainty with this storm is where exactly the center of it goes after it approaches Cali and Nevada. This position and it’s moisture content will depend on if southern Utah can get any rain and snow Sunday. Right now, we’re staying optimistic and keeping a chance in the forecast, but we’re still 5 days away. More details to come! – Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 1.21.25
