Today is the quiet before a potent winter storm moves in Tuesday. Highs will be near normal in the mid to upper 40s for the Wasatch Front and 50s for the south. Precipitation will begin tonight over southwest and central Utah, then will fill in and become heavy overnight in the form of valley rain and mountain snow. Tuesday will be a washout especially for northern and central Utah. Precipitation will begin tonight, becoming widepsread overnight, and continuing through tomorrow evening. For tghe Wasatch Front, tomorrow’ evening rain will break apart and become more scattered and some snowflakes may mix in. We’ll keep a chance for morning snow showers Wednesday, then dry the rest of the day. Rain/snow will eventually come to an end over central and southern Utah by Wednesday afternoon. Valley rain potential: northern and southern utah .25″-.75″, central valleys .75″-1.25″.
