West Valley police detective Kim Waelty interviewed four-year-old Charlie Powell on Dec. 8, 2009 about his missing mom, Susan Powell. Charlie told a confounding story about camping, Dinosaur National Park, airplanes and beaches. Detectives used information Charlie provided to confront Susan’s husband, Josh Powell, who was at the same sitting for an interview with detective Ellis Maxwell.
