SALT LAKE CITY — Police are looking for a person they suspect was involved in a fatal Salt Lake City shooting in the early morning of Friday, Dec. 10.

Police said Monday that newly identified 32-year-old Christopher James Taylor was shot and killed at approximately 1 a.m. at 310 S., 900 East in Salt Lake. Police said officers arrived four minutes after emergency dispatch was informed of the shooting. Police took over life-saving efforts for Taylor, after CPR had already been started by those in the area.

The address corresponds to a gas station

Taylor died on the scene from what police believed was at least one gunshot wound. The shooting, police said, appeared to stem from an altercation between the victim and the man believed to be the shooter.

Police said while the suspect is at large, the altercation appeared to be isolated. Police request anyone with information on the case call 801.799.3000 and reference case 21-226389.

Police released four photos of the person that suspect was the shooter and three photos from the scene of the shooting.

According to police, detectives are working with the medical examiner’s office to confirm the cause of death. Crime lab technicians were also involved in the preliminary stages of the investigation.
