‘Getty Fire Miracle’: Wedding Ring Returned After Surviving Multiple Fires

Amid the devastation of the California wildfires, there’s a touching story that’s being called the “Getty Fire Miracle.”
Last week, a firefighter found a wedding ring in the gutter near a burned-out home in Los Angeles. It was taken back to the command post, and the firefighter hoped to find the owner.
With help from social media, crews were able to find the woman who lost the ring.
She was amazed they found it. It was her mother’s ring, and it wasn’t the first time it’d been through a situation like this one.
The ring was the only item that wasn’t destroyed in a fire at the house at the exact same address in 1961.
“Among the stories of heartbreak and devastation, these moments lighten our hearts,” the Los Angeles Fire Department wrote on its Facebook page. “We hope this beloved family heirloom continues to bring joy and smiles to its family.”
