SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Over 500,000 Utahns cast their ballots in the state’s first-ever Super Tuesday presidential primaries, and state officials said the 34% voter turnout was the highest in state history.
Officials were still counting ballots and expected those numbers to rise throughout the night.
Polls closed at 8 p.m. in Utah.
SUPER TUESDAY: #Utah results are still coming in but so far we've had 501,693 ballots cast with a voter turnout of 34% (both record numbers).
We won't know until tomorrow how many mail-in ballots still need to be counted. @KSL5TV @KSLcom @kslnewsradio #UTpol #supertuesday2020 pic.twitter.com/2PElVwebjV
