MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE, Utah — Police are searching for a suspect they say fled from state troopers at speeds over 100 mph before attempting to ram two police vehicles and crashing in Weber County.
Officials with the Utah Highway Patrol said the incident began near Farmington’s Station Park mall when a trooper attempted to stop the suspect for speeding.
UHP trooper Citta, who initiated the stop, said the driver then fled, hitting speeds over 100 mph.
The chase, went through Kaysville, into South Weber, where Citta said the driver then tried to ram a deputy on the shoulder.
He said it happened not once but twice. “South Ogden where he tried to ram another officer,” said Citta.

Citta said Layton police and the Weber County Sheriff’s Office got involved in the pursuit.
Layton police attempted to spike the driver’s tires, but the suspect avoided the spikes before they were hit by a Layton police vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
That’s when Pleasant View Police got a tail on the driver according to Lt. Stetson Talbot. “Come Eastbound through the light, clipped another vehicle, lost control of his, and went downhill,” Stetson said.
That happened 1900 West at 12th Street in Marriott-Slaterville, and the driver fled on foot.
Weber County deputies are handling the search for the driver and the investigation.
Stetson said there were three people in the car – possibly four.
Citta said the driver will likely face charges of evading police and attempted aggravated assault, among others.
Talbot said he does not believe the public is in danger.
Deputies detained three passengers in conjunction with the investigation, and two were taken into custody.
