AUSTIN, TX —  Investigators in Austin, TX say 23-year-old Mark Anthony Conditt blew himself up as police closed in on his location.

Although the suspect is dead, investigators warn, the danger may still exist.

Investigators searching the house of Mark Anthony Conditt, trying to find clues from the suspected serial bomber.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott said,  “I think there is a treasure trove of information in his house, as well as digital information, that should shed light more upon who he is, what he was doing and why he was doing it.”

The bombing spree terrorizing Texas came to an explosive conclusion after investigators tracked conditt to a hotel outside of austin.

When the SWAT team approached, police say Conditt killed himself.

Police Chief Brian Manley said, “The suspect is deceased and has significant injuries from a blast that occurred from detonating a bomb inside his vehicle.”

Since March 2nd, five package bombings killed two people and injured several others.

Police say Conditt was skilled and made sophisticated devices.  But what investigators don’t know is why.

Governor Abbott said, “We’re still trying to piece together why is it that someone like this would go on this effort? We don’t know if it was a political manifesto or some other anger about some people or whether or not he just wanted to stoke terrorism.”

Investigators warn, more bombings may be placed in the region.

Special Agent In Charge of the ATF Houston Field Division, Fred Milanowski said, “We are concerned that there still may be other devices out there and we want to make sure that if people see suspicious packages or bags they continue to call 911 and report that to the police.”

“We will be here as long as it takes with our partners to figure out exactly what happened, why it happened, and how it happened,” said Chris Combs, Special Agent in Charge, FBI San Antonio Division.
