SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Get out your binoculars and hope for some clear weather.
On Jan. 20, Earth will cast its shadow on the moon during the time when the moon is closest to the Earth. The super blood moon eclipse promises to be a spectacular show, which will be visible to everyone in North and South America.
Assuming the skies are clear, that is.
The action begins at approximately 8:30 p.m. The moon will be fully eclipsed at 9:41 p.m. and last for about two minutes. The entire eclipse will be over just before midnight.
The eclipse will give the moon a reddish tint, hence the name “blood moon.”
