According to the state’s numbers, 34,647 people have been tested, and 148 people have been hospitalized.
There are 807 confirmed cases in Salt Lake County, 265 in Summit County, 236 in Utah County and 158 in Davis County.
State epidemiologist Angela Dunn on Monday said Utah currently has a shortage of testing supplies. The state has enough for between one – two weeks, but health officials have ordered more.
She noted that if residents show symptoms of the coronavirus – a fever, cough, and shortness of breath – they should get tested. If they are not showing symptoms, they should not get tested.
Utahns who are showing symptoms should contact their health care provider, or go to TestUtah.com.

How Do I Prevent It?
The CDC has some simple recommendations, most of which are the same for preventing other respiratory illnesses or the flu:
- Avoid close contact with people who may be sick
- Avoid touching your face
- Stay home when you are sick
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then throw the tissue in the trash
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. Always wash your hands with soap and water if your hands are visibly dirty.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
