COVID-19 In Utah: 7 More Deaths, 521 New Cases, 210 Patients Currently Hospitalized

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Department of Health on Thursday announced 521 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and seven new deaths in the state.
So far, there have been 36,099 cases, 2,150 hospitalizations and 267 deaths.
The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 598 per day, or 9.4%. That average has decreased slightly from 10% on Sunday.
Currently, 210 patients are hospitalized with the virus, 98 of which are in intensive care units. There are also 39 patients currently hospitalized as COVID-19 persons under investigation.
UDOH reports 53.8% of all non-ICU beds and 67.1% of all ICU beds in the state’s hospitals are occupied.
All the deaths reported Thursday were Salt Lake County residents:
- Female, older than 85, long-term care facility resident
- Female, older than 85, hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 45-64, long-term care facility resident
- Female, older than 85, long-term care facility resident
- Male, older than 85, long-term care facility resident
- Male, older than 85, long-term care facility resident
- Female, between 65-84, long-term care facility resident
The state is considering 23,093 patients as recovered, meaning those patients received a positive diagnosis more than three weeks ago and they have not died.
