Utah Reports 1,200 New COVID-19 Cases, 7 New Deaths, 254 Current Hospitalizations

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Department of Health on Sunday reported 1,200 new COVID-19 cases and seven new deaths.

Testing
The state reported 5,677 total tests since yesterday, 1,200 of which were positive.
A total of 918,571 people have been tested, and 85,844 of those tests returned positive.
The state has reported 1,211,868 total tests.
Hospitalizations
There are currently 254 patients hospitalized, 99 of which are in intensive care units. Another 20 patients are currently hospitalized as COVID-19 persons under investigation.
UDOH reports 52.1% of all non-ICU beds and 67.4% of all ICU beds in Utah hospitals are occupied.
Deaths
A total of 517 Utahns have died from the virus. The following deaths were reported Sunday:
- Male, between 65-84, Cache County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 65-84, Tooele County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Male, older than 85, Davis County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 45-64, Washington County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
Recoveries
The state is considering 63,307 cases as “recovered,” meaning those patients received a positive diagnosis more than three weeks ago and they have not died.
