Health Officials Report 2,110 Utahns Test Positive For COVID-19, 6 More Residents Die

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah broke its record for COVID-19 cases reported in a single day on Wednesday, as health officials said 2,110 Utahns have tested positive for the virus.
Another six residents have died as a result of COVID-19.
Currently, 382 patients with the virus are being treated in Utah hospitals.
Testing
So far, 1,111,986 Utahns have been tested – an increase of 6,559 from yesterday. Of those, 121,485 have tested positive for COVID-19.
The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 1,803 per day, and the rolling seven-day average for percent of positive laboratory tests is 19.1%.
Hospitalizations
There are 382 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19, and 158 of those patients are in intensive care units.
The Utah Department of Health reports 49.7% of all non-ICU beds and 74.9% of all ICU beds are currently occupied.
Deaths
A total of 625 Utahns have lost their lives due to COVID-19. UDOH reported that one death has been removed from the total after further investigation.
Salt Lake County
A woman between 65 – 84 who was hospitalized, and man older than 85 who was not hospitalized have died.
Utah County
A man between 65 – 84 who was hospitalized, and a woman between 65 – 84 who was a resident of a long-term care facility have died.
Iron County
A man between 65 – 84 who was hospitalized has died.
Cache County
A man between 45 – 64 who was hospitalized has died.
