More Than 100,000 Vaccines Have Been Administered In Utah

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Department of Health on Sunday reported that 102,809 vaccines have now been administered in the state.
The department also reported that 2,276 residents have tested positive for COVID-19, and two more Utahns have died as a result of the virus.
There are currently 541 people hospitalized with COVID-19.

Testing
UDOH reported a total of 1,826,385 of the state’s resident have been tested so far, which is an increase of 10,056 people tested from yesterday.
Of those, a total of 305,999 Utahns have tested positive for COVID-19. That’s an increase of 2,276 cases from Saturday’ report.
The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 3,212 per day, and the rolling seven-day average for precent of positive laboratory tests is 31.5%.
Hospitalizations
There are currently 541 people hospitalized with confirmed cases of COVID-19, and 189 if those patients are in intensive care units. Another 47 people are hospitalized with suspected cases of COVID-19.
The state’s ICUs are 87.3% occupied, and the ICU beds in Utah’s referral centers are 90.5% full.
Referral Centers are the 16 hospitals in Utah with the capability to provide the best care for patients with COVID-19. Because most patients are transferred to these facilities, their utilization is the best reflection of the true hospital capacity in Utah when looking at ICU beds.
Deaths
Health officials reported two more Utahns have died from COVID-19. To date, 1,392 of the state’s residents have lost their lives as a result of the virus.
The following individuals’ deaths were reported Sunday:
- Male, older than 85, Washington County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Female, between 65-84, Washington County resident, hospitalized at time of death
Vaccinations
The state has administered 102,809 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine so far, which is 3,197 more than Saturday.
