UDOH: 13 More Utahns Have Died From COVID-19

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Department of Health on Sunday reported 13 people have died from COVID-19.
Nine of those residents died before March 1, according to UDOH.
Health officials also reported 389 additional Utahns have tested positive for the virus.
The state administered 14,628 more vaccines.
Currently, 142 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.

Testing
UDOH reports 2,372,721 people have been tested so far, which is an increase of 4,704 since yesterday.
Of those, 384,562 have tested positive for COVID-19, an increase of 389 over Saturday’s numbers.
The rolling 7-day average for positive tests is 422 per day.
The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 7%. The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 3.5%.
Hospitalizations
There are 142 people currently hospitalized with confirmed cases of COVID-19, and 56 of those people are in intensive care units. Another 15 patients are hospitalized with suspected cases of COVID-19.
The state’s ICUs are 68.4% occupied. The ICU beds in Utah’s referral centers are 72% full.
Referral Centers are the 16 hospitals in Utah with the capability to provide the best care for patients with COVID-19. Because most patients are transferred to these facilities, their utilization is the best reflection of the true hospital capacity in Utah when looking at ICU beds.
Deaths
Health officials reported 13 more Utahns have died as a direct result of COVID-19. Nine of those people died before March 1.
To date, the virus has killed 2,114 of the state’s residents.
The following individuals’ deaths were reported Sunday:
- Female, older than 85, Tooele County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Male, between 65-84, Cache County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Female, older than 85, Utah County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
- Female, between 65-84, Sevier County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Male, older than 85, Box Elder County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 65-84, Box Elder County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Female, between 65-84, Davis County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Male, between 45-64, Utah County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Female, older than 85, Weber County resident, not hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 45-64, Weber County resident, hospitalized at time of death
- Male, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Male, older than 85, Utah County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Female, older than 85, Box Elder County resident, long-term care facility resident
Vaccinations
Utah has administered 1,304,319 vaccines so far, which is an increase of 14,628 since Saturday’s report.
At least 860,684 people have received one dose, and 477,700 Utahns have been fully immunized.
There have been 1,501,900 vaccines delivered to the state.
