Coroner confirms human remains found in Wyoming are Gabby Petito’s

JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County Coroner has confirmed the human remains that were found Sunday in Teton County, Wyoming are those of 22-year-old Gabrielle Petito.
FBI officials made the announcement on social media Tuesday afternoon.
Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue confirmed the remains are those of Gabrielle Venora Petito, date of birth March 19, 1999. Coroner Blue’s initial determination for the manner of death is homicide. The cause of death remains pending final autopsy results. pic.twitter.com/JoHenMZ9UU

Dr. Brent Blue determined the initial cause of death to be homicide, but an official cause still remains, pending final autopsy results.
“The FBI and our partners remain dedicated to ensuring anyone responsible for or complicit in Ms. Petito’s death is held accountable for their actions,” read a statement from FBI Denver Special Agent in Charge Michael Scheider.
The statement went on to say, “Mr. Brian Laundrie has been named a person of interest. Anyone with information concerning Mr. Laundrie’s role in this matter or his current whereabouts should contact the FBI.”

FBI agents confirmed the case has now turned to a homicide investigation.
Anyone who was in the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area between Aug. 27 and 30 has also been asked to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or 303-629-7171.
