Police search for luggage thief suspect

SALT LAKE CITY – Authorities are asking the public’s help to identify an alleged luggage thief.
According to Salt Lake City police, the man is suspected of stealing luggage from the Salt Lake City International Airport twice in the last few months.
Police believe he first stole luggage on April 4th around 2:23 p.m.
Surveillance footage shows the suspect stepping off a UTA Trax train, walking to the baggage carousel, taking the luggage, and walking back to the UTA station and boarding a train.

The second theft happened on May 18th around 4:45 p.m. Again, surveillance footage caught the suspect taking a bag from the carousel.
Police said each bag is worth more than $1,500, and these thefts are considered felonies.
