D.I.Y. Life Expo Bringing Expert Advice To Do-It-Yourself Community

SANDY, Utah – Whether you’re remodeling the house or restoring a car, sometimes you might want a little expert knowledge to aid you in your D.I.Y. efforts.
There are plenty of experts on hand at the KSL Classifieds D.I.Y. Life Expo happening Friday and Saturday. Adventure specialists Trace Worthington and Sean Smith caught up with a few of them at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy.
The expo covers what you’d expect, like rehabbing furniture and homemade crafts, but it expands beyond with topics like wellness, landscaping and selling your own home.
“And Sean, you can also learn to put on your own wedding,” Trace said. “Maybe you should think about that with a certain somebody!”
Trace and Sean chatted with Chad Mann with Epic Product Launch. He’s the guy to help people execute their new ideas.
“We teach a curriculum of how to launch their products, getting their idea off of the napkin and getting it out on the shelf,” Chad said. “Today, we’re teaching how to plan for those steps.”
Expo attendees will also be able to register for classes on all sorts of subjects.
The Rev. Christopher Scuderi of the Universal Heart Ministry is teaching a few of those classes.
Scuderi is teaching happy couples how to write their own vows and how to officiate a wedding correctly the first time around.
Among the many skills to learn is pest control.
Eric Cooper helped start the D.I.Y. Pest Club about a year ago at Brigham Young University. The club sends homeowners their own kits in the mail to control the insects in and around their houses.
He is at the expo to show people how to use the kits. He told Trace how to get rid of his earwig problem, and informed Andrew Wittenberg back in the studio that he could get a starter kit for free to help out with Box Elder bugs.
The D.I.Y. Expo will be happening Friday until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Mountain America Expo Center, 9575 State St., Sandy. Admission is $5 and an additional $2 to attend the classes. Children get in for free.
