SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – It has now been 10 days since anyone has seen or heard from University of Utah senior Mackenzie Lueck.
Salt Lake City Police on Wednesday said they had no new information to share on the missing person case and did not hold a press conference.
At this point in the investigation, police have yet to find any evidence of a criminal act. Detectives have all the probable cause they need to keep the investigation going, but her disappearance so far is not a crime.
Detectives have issued search warrants, but it’s unknown if those warrants are for Lueck’s cell phone records.
Police stressed they are not giving specifics, but they have sought and reserved multiple warrants in all aspects of Lueck’s life.
Authorities said they are aware and looking at her social media accounts and any online dating apps she may have been on, but they haven’t turned up information that would lead them to believe she is in any harm or in danger.
UPDATE: we know Mackenzie was texting while in the airport. We are actively following that lead and continue to pursue other leads as well. #MissingPerson #MackenzieLueck

“We don’t’ have any evidence to suggest any foul play,” said SLCPD Assistant Chief Tim Doubt. “Just the lack of this being her character, we are concerned.”
Police are also no longer commenting on Mackenzie’s bank account activity. However, detectives are still asking for anyone with information to reach out to up their Tip line at 801-799-4420.
