SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – As the Farmer’s Almanac predicted, it’s already shaping up to be a crazy winter for the northern Rockies.
And winter hasn’t even started yet.
According to the National Weather Service, blizzard conditions could hit the area of Great Falls, Montana, with winds of up to 40 miles per hour this weekend, and Idaho and Wyoming could see up to 3 feet of snow.
The NWS has a winter storm watch in effect for Idaho on Saturday, and it notes that “travel could be very difficult, especially over mountain passes. Patchy blowing snow could reduce visibility at times.”
It should be noted, as the Deseret News points out, snow typically begins to fall in the Helena, Montana, region in early October. However, the snow is expected to be heavier than usual.
