SPANISH FORK, Utah – Maple Mountain, Salem Hills and Springville high schools will transition to an alternating day schedule due to COVID-19 concerns, according to officials with the Nebo School District.
Each school had reported 15 or more confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday.
“The bulk of confirmed COVID-19 cases in our schools and communities continue to come from social and family interactions outside of school,” district officials said. “Please follow safety guidelines outside of the school setting: limit gatherings to household-only, practice physical distancing, and wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible.”
On an alternating day schedule, students will be split into two groups based on last name, with one group attending Monday and Thursday and the other attending Tuesday and Friday.
“The purpose is to continue at-school instruction while increasing our physical distancing and cleaning measures,” district officials said.
Meals are still available for students and regular bus routes will run each day, except for Wednesday.
