More Than 2,000 Utahns Have Lost Their Lives To COVID-19

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Department of Health reported 646 people have tested positive and an additional 23 residents have died from COVID-19.
Fifteen of those people died before Feb. 11, health officials said.
The pandemic has now taken the lives of 2,015 residents of Utah.
The state has administered 34,290 more vaccines, bringing the total to 936,681 vaccines distributed so far.
Currently, 167 people are hospitalized with the virus.

Testing
UDOH reports 2,273,483 Utahns have been tested so far, which is an increase of 8,139 people tested since yesterday.
Of those, a total of 376,973 have tested positive for COVID-19. That’s an increase of 646 new positive cases from Wednesday’s report.
The rolling 7-day average for positive tests is 524 per day.
The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “people over people” is 8.44%. The rolling 7-day average for percent positivity of “tests over tests” is 4.03%.
Hospitalizations
There are currently 167 people hospitalized with confirmed cases of COVID-19, and 66 of those patients are in intensive care units. Another 20 patients are hospitalized with suspected cases of COVID-19.
The state’s ICUs are 69.9% full. The ICU beds in Utah’s referral centers are 70.9% occupied.
Referral Centers are the 16 hospitals in Utah with the capability to provide the best care for patients with COVID-19. Because most patients are transferred to these facilities, their utilization is the best reflection of the true hospital capacity in Utah when looking at ICU beds.
Deaths
Health officials reported 23 more Utahns have died from COVID-19. Fifteen of those people died before Feb. 11.
The pandemic has killed 2,015 of the state’s residents.

- Male, older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Female, between 65-84, Iron County resident, hospitalized
- Female, older than 85, Weber County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Female, older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized
- Male, between 45-64, Davis County resident, hospitalized
- Female, older than 85, Davis County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Female, older than 85, Cache County resident, long-term care facility resident
- Female, older than 85, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized
- Female, between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized

Vaccinations
Utah has administered a total of 936,681 vaccines, which is an increase of 34,290 since Wednesday’s report.
To date, 618,337 Utahns have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 339,743 have received two doses.
There have been 1,151,265 vaccines delivered to Utah.
