Days Of ’47 Parade, Rodeo & Activities Scheduled For 2021 Return

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Following a 2020 hiatus, officials said the Days of ’47 Parade and activities have been scheduled for this July.
The Days of ’47 Parade is planned to begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 23, while the Days of ’47 Rodeo will take place July 20-24.
“We’re excited to continue these beloved Utah traditions,” said Lane Summerhays, president of the Days of ’47 Board. “As with many activities canceled, postponed, or altered in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, these treasured pioneer traditions were placed on hold. We’re now ready to celebrate our pioneer heritage as we have done for over a century.”
The parade will begin in downtown Salt Lake City and finish at Liberty Park. The rodeo will take place at the Utah State Fair Park.
Officials said all events will be subject to state and local COVID-19 requirements.
The Days of ’47 Parade and Float Preview Party, Days of ’47 Rodeo, Sunrise Service, Pops Concert, Pioneers of Progress, First Encampment Hike and the Deseret News Marathon are all scheduled to make their return in July.

Organizers canceled all 2020 events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first time the parade had been canceled since World War II.
KSL TV’s parade coverage is one of the most-watched TV programs in Utah every year. The rescheduled Opening Ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics is also scheduled for July 23.
KSL TV will carry the ceremony live, beginning at 5 a.m. MDT.
