GARFIELD COUNTY, Utah – Two men are in the Garfield County jail after police found drug paraphernalia in their car Sunday.

According to arresting documents, Jose Preston, 24, and Jose Casillas, 23, were in a parking lot near the Thunder Mountain Trail attempting to start their broken-down car.

Bystanders called police claiming the two suspects were causing a disturbance.

When police arrived, they asked for their I.D.’s, with Casillas saying he didn’t have any and Preston needing to grab his from the car.

Preston entered the car twice, causing a deputy to ask him to stop, but he went back into the car a third time, and the deputy forced him out of the car.

According to the documents, Preston started to resist, and both suspects were placed into police custody.

Police noticed burnt tinfoil and a blue pill inside the car.

After a thorough search, police found eight bags with about 8,000 blue Fentanyl pills worth about a quarter of a million dollars.

Police also found two more containers of blue Fentanyl pills and a gun on Casillas.

A woman and a 12-year-girl were found in a nearby restroom and were traveling with the two suspects.

The woman was sent to a local hospital due to health concerns while the girl is at a juvenile detention center.

Preston and Casillas were booked for disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

Casillas is facing an additional charge of possessing a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, while Preston has a charge of failing to stop at the command of law enforcement.
