Utahns continue to rattle our inbox with snake tails

UTAH – As the weather gets warmer, humans are not the only ones enjoying the summer heat; rattlesnakes are also out to get some sun.
Utah wildlife officers said snakes are now out of their dens and in lower elevations searching for food and water.
A couple of hikers already had unfortunate encounters with snakes, like a Bountiful family’s dog being bitten by one and rushed to the vet.

You would think these slivery reptiles are only in remote desert areas where hikers and pets could be bitten, but our viewers sent photos of finding rattlesnakes across Utah.
Some hid in greenery on trails, while others visited homes nearby the mountains.
But remember, if you run into a rattlesnake in your backyard, do not kill it as it’s illegal. Please call DWR, and they will help relocate the animal to a new home.
