Apr 24, 2024, 8:00 PM | Updated: 8:38 pm
Two storm systems will move in Thursday and Friday and bring valley rain and high elevation snow through the start of the weekend. Scattered showers and storms will develop in the afternoon Thursday, primarily in northern Utah. Thursday will not be a washout, expect many pockets of dry time. The second storm will move in Friday morning and bring steadier, more widespread showers and storms across much of Utah. Precipitation will linger into Saturday before drying out Sunday. Each storm brings a cool down, so highs will fall into the upper 60s Thursday, then into the mid 50s Friday and Saturday. Rain totals through Saturday look like .25-.75″ with isolated spots picking up more, especially where thunderstorms develop. Mountain snowfall generally looks up to a foot with locally higher amounts in the Upper Cottonwoods. – Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 4.24.24
