Utah Film Critics Association’s Bests of 2018

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” nabbed the Utah Film Critics Association’s Best Picture of 1018.
It also picked up Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Animated Feature.
“We sometimes choose unconventional things,” critic Jimmy Martin said. … “Was it my choice? No.”
The runner up for Best Picture among the critics was Netflix’s “Roma,” which won Best Director for Alfonso Cuaron, Best Cinematography, and Best Non-English Language Feature.
“It’s so beautiful to watch,” Martin said of “Roma.”
For Best Documentary, the critics chose “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” with “Minding the Gap” as the runner up.
Best Actress went to Elsie Fisher for “Eighth Grade,” Ethan Hawke got Best Actor for “First Reformed,” Olivia Coleman got Best Supporting Actress for “The Favourite,” and Russell Hornsby and Hugh Grant tied for Best Supporting Actor for their roles in “The Hate U Give” and “Paddington 2,” respectively. “Annihilation” got Best Original Score.
