SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The homeowner where a search warrant was executed overnight was being considered as a person of interest in the disappearance of Mackenzie Lueck.
Detectives first responded to the home near 550 North 1000 in the Fairpark area of Salt Lake City Wednesday afternoon.
Chief Mike Brown from the Salt Lake City Police Department said they have spoken with the homeowner.
The homeowner’s identity was not released, and no arrests have been in the case.
Officers were seen overnight carrying several bags from the residence, though police did not saw what evidence was collected.
Exclusive video from Chopper 5 showed investigators working through the night in the backyard, digging holes beneath canopies.
Chief Brown said detectives were still asking the public for help with information about Lueck’s possible location. Anyone with information has been asked to call a dedicated tip line at 801-799-4420.
“We need help from the public in this case,” the chief said.
Detectives were still following Lueck’s digital footprint and investigating all possible leads. They expected to execute additional search warrants as they followed those leads.
Of particular interest to police was a mattress and boxsprings the homeowner apparently gave away within the last several days. Chief Brown have asked the people who were in possession of the mattress to contact them.
Chief Brown said Lueck’s case remained open and an active investigation.
