SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times.
The Famers’ Almanac Extended Forecast 2020 is predicting a wild winter, even coining a clever phrase to describe the months ahead.
“This winter will be filled with so many ups and downs on the thermometer, it may remind you of a ‘Polar Coaster.'”
According to the website, the “bitterly cold winter conditions” will affect the Rocky Mountain areas, with the Wasatch Back falling into the “frigid & snowy” region.
The almanac predicts the Great Plains, the Midwest and the Great Lakes to get more precipitation during the winter ahead, while the Southwest — including most of Utah — should see near-normal levels.
It’s the area from the Texas Panhandle to the western Great Lakes that are going to get what the almanac dubs the “wildest rides,” with heavy storms and “hefty snows” predicted for January.
