One Man Shot, Killed In Officer-Involved Incident In Carbon County

WELLINGTON, Utah – One man is dead after a shooting involving a Wellington City Police officer, according to officials.
The officer involved in the incident was unharmed according to a press release from the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said the shooting happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday night but no further details about the incident were given.
The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office is leading a multi-agency investigation into the incident. The Price City Police Department, Emery County Sheriff’s Office and Carbon County Attorney’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
Officials said the involved officer was placed on paid administrative leave per city policy.
A press conference will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office.
