4.6 Aftershock Rattles Salt Lake Valley, Largest Since Morning Earthquake

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Hours after the Wasatch Front was rocked by a 5.7 magnitude earthquake, a 4.6 aftershock rattled the Salt Lake Valley.
According to the US Geological Society, the aftershock was preceded by a series of smaller quakes ranging in magnitude from 2.6 to 3.5. The shaking continued following the major aftershock with a few quakes averaging about 2.6.
The Utah Department of Natural Resources reported there have been 59 aftershocks following the morning quake.
