CORONAVIRUS: STRONGER TOGETHER
Taylor Swift Thanks, Surprises Utah Nurse With Gifts For Fighting COVID-19
OGDEN, Utah — Taylor Swift expressed her thanks to a Utah fan who has been working on the frontlines during the pandemic, sending her gifts and a thank-you note on her birthday.
Whitney Hilton is a registered nurse at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden.
She was celebrating her 30th birthday Saturday when she received a package from her favorite singer.
I need to PUBLICLY THANK TAYLOR SWIFT @taylorswift & @taylornation13 @treepaine for sending me a box full of Merch & a PERSONALIZED LETTER from Taylor herself for my 30th birthday/for going to NYC 🗽to help as a nurse. This was quite literally the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. 😍 pic.twitter.com/FqGMsZGixs

Taylor Swift surprised Hilton with a handwritten thank-you note and fan merchandise after Hilton’s family shared her story with Swift’s publicist.
“I can’t thank you enough for risking your life to help people,” the note said.
Hilton shared her excitement on Twitter.
“This was quite literally the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE,” the tweet read.
Hilton was among the two Intermountain Healthcare teams who flew to New York City to help in the fight against the coronavirus.
She was assigned to help at Long Island Jewish Memorial.
In a blog post published by Intermountain Healthcare, Hilton said her experience in New York was humbling.
“I have so much to say but almost too overwhelmed to say it all. New York has been hit HARD. The people need help, the nurses need help, the doctors need help, everyone needs help,” she said. “This is crisis mode like I’ve never seen.”
She then called upon residents back in Utah to take the virus seriously.
“One thing I want to SCREAM from the rooftops is that if you could see what we see here, you’d do ANYTHING humanly possible to prevent it,” she said in the blog.
Hilton returned home at the end of April.
