Three Coordinated July 4th Fireworks Shows Planned For Utah County

PROVO, Utah – With COVID-19, there’s no question Independence Day celebrations in Utah will be unlike any of the previous years. However, different doesn’t mean there won’t be fireworks.

The annual Stadium of Fire concert and fireworks event has been held for years.

Organizers announced the show won’t go on because of the coronavirus pandemic, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be pyrotechnics lighting up the night.

Stadium of Fire will produce three major shows in Utah County, all starting at 10 p.m. and working in concert with each other.

The executive director of America’s Freedom Festival, Jim Evans, said the show will be bigger than ever.

“In the Stadium of Fire, usually they go up 600-800 feet. In comparison, these fireworks that we are using will go anywhere from 1,000 to 1,400 feet, which means not only are they taller with the bigger shells, they go much wider,” he said. “It’s going to be a show folks in Utah County have never seen.”

The fireworks shows — all honoring Utah’s essential workers – will be at LaVell Edwards Stadium in the west parking lot, at Footprinter park in South Provo and at Orem Community Park, right next to Mountain View High School.

“For many years we have been blessed by their service, our essential workers, police, fire, medical, supermarket workers… We just wanted to give back,” said Evans.

The three shows will be synchronized to music on KSL Newsradio. A flyover has also been approved by the Pentagon for earlier in the evening. Now they are coordinating with Hill Air Force Base.

It will be a different 4th of July, but still an explosive one in Utah Valley. Everybody has been invited to watch the show.
