OGDEN, Utah — An inmate at the Weber County Sheriff’s Office has tested positive for COVID-19, officials said.
Officials said the inmate’s test results came back Sunday.
The inmate was placed in isolation and is receiving medical treatment.
“We have been following and will continue to follow CDC guidelines on the management of Coronavirus in Correctional and Detention Facilities,” read the department’s Facebook post.
Officials said employees and visitors will continue being screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon entering the facility.
All visitors have been asked to wear a mask while inside the building.
“The health and well-being of our employees and those incarcerated in our facility is very important to us,” the post continued.
The Weber County Sheriff’s Office will now be working with the Weber-Morgan Health Department to perform additional tests in the facility.
Officials said they will also reevaluate some of the services and programs they reopened following the state’s move to yellow.
