“Future violations of the Twitter Rules, including our Civic Integrity or Violent Threats policies, will result in permanent suspension of the @realDonaldTrump account,” Twitter officials said.
Among the three tweets was Trump’s video telling supports to “go home” after the U.S. Capitol was stormed by pro-Trump supporters during Wednesday’s joint session of Congress.
Twitter had flagged the tweet before it was removed.
Twitter officials said they would continue to monitor the situation in realtime, including any statements from Trump outside of Twitter and activity on the ground.
“We will keep the public informed, including if further escalation in our enforcement approach is necessary,” they said.
