FARMINGTON, Utah – A man died late Thursday when he exited his car following a crash on I-15 and was struck by a vehicle, authorities said.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a man in his 80s was driving northbound in a blue Camry when his vehicle was rear-ended by silver Nissan.
The impact caused the Camry to spin into the HOV lane. The driver of the Nissan pulled over on the right side of the freeway, and the driver of the Camry then attempted to cross I-15 on foot toward the Nissan.
The man was then hit by a Honda Crossover. He sustained fatal injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The interstate was closed at 200 West for approximately three hours during the investigation. It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the Nissan to hit the Camry.
