OREM, Utah — An Orem family was displaced after their home was completely destroyed in a fire.
Crews were called out to the house fire at 1447 South and 760 East around 3:55 p.m. Monday.
Battalion Chief Shaun Hirst with the Orem City Fire Department said it started within the vicinity of the garage and quickly moved throughout the home.
The blaze was put out in about ten minutes, but as of 4:45 p.m., crews were still putting out hotspots.
No one was injured, but the home was a total loss, according to Hirst. Because of that, the family who lived there was displaced.
Strong winds in the area spread the fire, Hirst said, damaging some fencing and exterior sheds on the neighbors’ property.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
