HEBER CITY, Utah — A fugitive crashed into two patrol vehicles and a residential fence after leading police on a car chase through Heber City, authorities said.
Officials with the Heber City Police Department said they located Jared Luther Pacheco — who was previously wanted on a felony warrant for offenses including fleeing and possession of a weapon by a restricted person — in the Greenfield Circle area Saturday afternoon and initiated a traffic stop.
Pacheco took off in his car, traveling along Airport Road and Baxter Drive, where he intentionally crashed into two marked patrol vehicles while officers were inside before continuing into a residential fence, police said.
Pacheco was safely taken into custody where he now faces charges of felony fleeing, two counts of aggravated assault on an officer, narcotics offenses and traffic offenses, in addition to his original warrant.
“We are so grateful no one was injured and appreciate all assisting agencies that participated in the apprehension of Mr. Pacheco,” read a Facebook post from the Heber City Police Department.
