Several Utah Cities Enacting Firework Restrictions
SALT LAKE CITY — Fireworks go on sale Thursday and Utahns can begin legally lighting them off in just over a week. But as the state experiences historic heat and drought conditions, several cities are restricting where fireworks can be used.
“It’s as dry as it ever been in the state of Utah, and we don’t want to mess around when it comes to fires,” Gov. Spencer Cox said.
So what restrictions are in place in your area?
Salt Lake County
Salt Lake County has released an interactive map to make it easier for residents to find out where those bans are in place.
Officials said the map will highlight areas with fireworks restrictions in red, and it will be updated daily as more communities enact their own restrictions.
