MURRAY, Utah — Police are looking for a suspect who they said attempted a carjacking in a Murray parking lot.
Officials with the Murray Police Department said they were called around 10:15 a.m. Sunday after a man entered a woman’s car in a Denny’s parking lot, located at 420 West and 4500 South, with a firearm.
The woman was able to escape without injuries, police said, and secure herself inside the Denny’s.
The suspect then left the vehicle and went inside a Shell gas station, which was in the same parking lot as the restaurant.
Police said Shell employees left the gas station and told officers the suspect had barricaded himself inside.
A SWAT team was then called out, but police said the suspect left before they arrived.
Police described the suspect as six feet, four inches tall, weighing 220 pounds, with brown eyes and blonde hair, as well as facial hair.
They said he was wearing a hat and gray-colored shirt, with a pink skirt or pink wrap around his lower mid-section.
Anyone with information has been asked to contact Murray Police at 801-840-4000.
