OREM, Utah — Four people were taken to the hospital, including a suspect, after an apparent series of stabbings inside a home in Orem.
Police, according to a statement, said they responded to a home near 1400 South and 700 East around 5:30 p.m. Monday on the report of a man who was “actively stabbing people” inside.
According to officers, three people were found with multiple stab wounds and were taken to the hospital.
Police said a suspect was also taken into custody and later transported to the hospital for medical care.
Neighbor Katie Adelmann said she first was alerted to what was happening when she received a knock at the door.
“I hear screaming, so I look outside the door and I see this guy outside and he’s like pouring blood outside his stomach,” Adelmann said. “I go to the living room and look out the window and I see these two little kids running back and forth, trying to look for help, I think.”
Adelmann said she recognized everybody else outside on the street, including multiple people from the same family who appeared to have blood on them, but she did not recognize a man handcuffed on the ground out in front of the home.
Orem Police Department did not provide further information at the scene, only referring back to a statement on Facebook.
