TAYLORSVILLE, Utah — A Murray police officer barely avoided being hit by a getaway driver during a police chase.
Utah Department of Transportation cameras captured the chase in the Taylorsville area around 3:30 a.m. Thursday.
The officer was outside of his vehicle and about to throw down spikes to stop the suspect. Police said the suspect then intentionally swerved toward the sergeant, who is expected to be OK.
The suspect car’s mirror grazed the officer’s hip, and authorities said he is still on the run. It’s not clear why he led police on the chase.
