Man in custody after breaking into church

PROVO, Utah— A man is in custody after allegedly breaking into a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church building Friday according to court documents.
Police responded to a call of suspicious activity at the church building at 1200 South 500 West in Provo. Church members had discovered a window had been broken and cards belonging to a Marinda Smith were found at the scene.
Documents state that the officer was in search of two individuals, Marinda Smith and Jordan Forbes, in regaards to a criminal trespass that they committed earlier in the day at 1095 South and 500 West.
The two were located trespassing once again at 1095 South and 500 West. In an interview, Smith stated that Forbes broke the window at the church in order to enter the building. Both admitted to entering the church and trespassing on the other property earlier in the day.
Court documents state, “when informed that they were going to jail, Smith stated that she had swallowed 400 pills an hour ago and Forbes stated that he swallowed balloons of meth and heroine. Paramedics responded to assess them.”
However, while enroute to the Spanish Fork Hospital, Forbes told police he did not swallow any drugs and only said he did so that he could avoid going to Jail.
Forbes was booked into the Utah County Jail for alleged charges of criminal mischief, interference with a peace officer, and two counts of criminal trespass.
