SALT LAKE CITY— Period products will now be available in public and charter schools throughout the state with the unanimous passage of HB 162.
The bill, which was passed Thursday morning, will require period products to be freely available for every public and charter school in girls and all-children bathrooms within the state.
The period product dispensers will be installed and fully funded by a public-private partnership with The Andrus Family Foundation and the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation.
The “Period Project” is a current campaign created by The Policy Project in conjunction with Sister Goods to end period poverty within the state of Utah.
