7-Year-Old Girl, Who Died of Cancer, Wants Her Toys and Clothes to Go to Another Girl in Need

LEHI, Utah – Anybody who has ever moved can understand what Carrie Puzey is going through.

“It’s a lot of work. We started, like, three days ago,” she said while putting items into cardboard boxes.

She and her family have spent the past few days separating items, deciding what will go into their new home in Saratoga Springs, and what gets thrown out at their current home in Lehi.

“You don’t know how much junk you have until you move,” Puzey said with a slight laugh.

Puzey loves her Lehi house.

It’s just time to move on.

“Fresh start,” she said.

All the rooms have been torn apart, except for one room upstairs she just can’t bring herself to touch yet.

“It was hard to go through all of her stuff,” said Puzey while looking at several stuffed animals on a little bed with a rainbow colored blanket.

This room used to belong to her daughter, Karmyn Puzey.

It’s full of bright yellows and pinks, as well as enough toys to keep a child busy for days.

“Her number two things in this world that she loved were rainbows and unicorns,” her mom said. “That’s why there are so many of them in here.”

If only rainbows and unicorns could fight cancer.

“When she found out she was sick again, because I had to tell her, she said I don’t want to go back to the hospital. And I said, you don’t have to,” said Puzey. “She wanted to be home and this is where she died.”

7-year-old Karmyn Puzey, who already had five brain surgeries and 60 rounds of radiation in her little life, just couldn’t fight anymore.

“She passed away on March 21^st,” said her mother.

That was last week.

But, before she died, she told her mom all those rainbows and unicorns could make another girl in need happy.

“She said to just give it to a little girl that needs it. And I said okay. And I said everything? And she said everything,” said her mother.

So, before the family moves into their new home next week, Puzey is hoping to fill her daughter’s last wish.

No matter how hard moving, and moving on, is.

“She can get everything she wanted,” said her mother. “And then we can have that closure and then start our new life.”
