Police Searching For Shooter Who Hospitalized Man Intervening In Argument

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – Police are searching for a suspect after they say a man tried to mediate a dispute and was then shot.
The shooting happened near 3820 Benview Drive.
Police believe the dispute involved some children fighting, and the victim crossed the street to see what was going on and possibly assist.
One of the bullets grazed the victim’s head, two went into his back and one went into his stomach.
The man was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
It’s unclear if the victim and the shooter knew each other.
K9s from various agencies assisted in a search for the suspect. He reportedly ran on foot to the north.
The suspect is a hispanic male in his 30s with a shaved head and tattoo-covered arms, according to officials
Police said they do not believe there’s a threat to the community at this time. They’re also hoping to come across surveillance footage.
