SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Several school districts in Utah have recently proposed raises for teachers.
Teachers from Murray, Canyons, Jordan and Granite school districts are set to see a pay increase next year. Teachers in the Salt Lake City School District are also fighting for a higher salary.
The district has proposed a 3% increase, but educators said it wasn’t enough. More than 100 teachers rallied at a board meeting Tuesday, saying they want a 6% raise as well as paid parental leave and caps on class sizes.
